KORBO MALUCH 1450
Korbo Maluch is an innovative set of blocks – educational tools for conducting interesting and attractive activities that support the development of children in kindergarten and align with the educational policy directions announced by the Ministry of Education.
It teaches, entertains, and allows for conducting activities based on the STEAM approach, engaging areas of child development: cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and team activities that teach cooperation, communication, and respect for others’ opinions.
These blocks intrigue, motivate, and inspire actions in children aged from 3 to even 10 years old. They allow experiencing, learning, and experimenting. They develop analytical thinking through an interdisciplinary approach to subject teaching.
It is a great solution to have a Maluch set in every group in kindergarten.
The Korbo Maluch set consists of 1,450 blocks and many accessories, work cards, and a book with activity scenarios. The basic element of the blocks is the gear, which makes the built constructions move and come to life, making it a great attraction for young children and offering opportunities for experiencing and experimenting.
300 gears in 6 colors, 50 of each, allow for an even distribution of elements among a group of up to 25 people. Green (50 pcs) and yellow (50 pcs) platforms often serve as the place for completing tasks – the so-called “board,” where we follow the teacher’s instructions. The platforms can be connected to form larger boards and create team constructions.
An integral part of the Korbo Maluch blocks is a book full of scenarios, ideas, and exercises – the Korbo Maluch guidebook and work cards. The book contains illustrations, graphics, and photos that serve as inspiration for conducting very attractive activities with children. The ideas for activities, carried out daily in educational institutions, are the result of experiences, analyses, and conclusions drawn during the implementation of these activities. The activity scenarios are deliberately named “games.” We want the sense of play to guide the activities during lessons. For ease, the dominant area of child development – cognitive, social, emotional, or physical – is marked next to the title of the game in the book.
The cognitive area consists of 40 game scenarios in which the child develops their skills in understanding and processing information about the world. One of the key elements of cognitive development is processing the information gained. Children not only receive information but also learn to analyze, organize, and draw conclusions. This process forms the basis of their ability to learn and understand various concepts, such as numbers, shapes, colors, and more abstract ideas.
Another important aspect is memory retention. Memory allows children to accumulate experiences and knowledge that they can use in the future. Children learn to recall names, facts, sequences of events, and rules, which are crucial for their education and daily functioning.
The cognitive area includes many games based on experiences and analyses from activities conducted with children, one of which is the “Building Vehicles” construction game. The goals of the game are:
• Comprehensive development of technical and manual skills.
• Learning the basics of construction and mechanics.
• The ability to prepare elements to complete a task.
• Supporting creativity and the ability to modify.
• Developing teamwork skills.
The second area is the social area, through which children develop their social skills. This area of games sensitizes them to the importance of family relationships, the ability to express themselves on a given topic, teaches empathy, behavior principles, and creating constructions based on their own designs.
One of the interesting games in the social area is “Sparrows’ Winter Dilemmas.” Its tasks are:
• Raising awareness about the need to feed animals in winter.
• Focusing on the appropriate choice of food for birds fed in winter.
• Developing construction skills.
Children who can constructively manage their emotions generally have more success in relationships with peers. Therefore, the emotional area is one of the most important aspects of a child’s development.
The emotional area consists of many interesting and developmental games. In this area, we have games such as “Arrange Emotions” or “The World of Emotions.” Their tasks are:
• Developing the ability to recognize and properly name emotions.
• Stimulating creativity through the free creation of emotional worlds.
• Developing the ability to reflect and cope with emotions.
The Korbo blocks set develops children’s physical growth in many aspects, such as:
