KORBO UKŁAD

A set for the whole class for activities in three groups, on three coordinate systems and on three planes made up of blue platforms and, in addition, yellow (Korbo Code) and green (Korbo Concept) platforms.
Wide and solid wooden slats with clear, large markings constitute the axes of the coordinate system:

• letter axis A – H – horizontal axis
• digit axis 1 – 10 – vertical axis.

Each plane of the coordinate system has equally spaced, fixed points – these are the points of the coordinate system. Each point corresponds to exactly one digit and letter pair, e.g. 3H.

The basic skill that children learn when working on the Korbo coordinate system is to correctly
reading and marking the points on it.
By working in groups – so-called TEAMBUILDING work – children additionally acquire the ability to:

• developing an action plan
• distributing tasks among themselves
• carrying them out harmoniously
• achieving a goal quickly.

The 16 tasks on 8 cards include:

• varying degrees of difficulty of the exercises
• a varied type of task:
• image formation according to coordinate points
• creating a picture according to mathematical tasks and coordinate points
• arranging the picture according to the coordinate points with filling in the background,
  where each point on the plane of the coordinate system is assigned a cogwheel in the appropriate colour scheme.

Following the guidelines of the tasks, children decode the encrypted information.

By doing the exercises, they develop not only spatial orientation, but also concentration skills.
The tasks on the cards are only examples of how we can work with children on coordinate systems.
The teacher can independently prepare tasks, games and activities according to his/her own ideas and needs.
